10 Unconventional reading tips


  1. Don’t buy popular books. Let the hype settle. Let the reviews roll in.

  2. Don’t try to finish all the books that you read. It's okay to leave a book unread.

  3. Buy more books than you could possibly finish. Build an anti-library.

  4. The sole purpose of reading is to find hard-hitting books.

  5. And from those hard-hitting books, take amazing notes.

  6. Not taking notes is wasting your reading time. Explain key concepts to yourself by writing (my video essays on writing).

  7. Just track how many books you read. But...

  8. Don’t try to hit an arbitrary limit of books read. (Read more).

  9. Reading some books in depth is better than going swiftly through 100 books.

  10. Write about the books you read.
